The development of Drink To Me’s sound has been gradual but pronounced. From their guitar-driven 2008 debut ‘Don’t Panic, Go Organic!’ to 2012’s ‘S’, there was a slow shift to more of an electronic sound. The final shift in their metamorphosis was sparked by the departure of bassist Carlo Casalegno, which saw the band draft back in former guitarist Pierre Chindemi to fill the gap with synths.
The line-up and instrument alterations push the band further towards dance music, though with the strong songwriting skills developed in their earlier incarnations.
Album number four, ‘Bright White Light’, is due out on 23 Feb, and you can listen to its semi-title track, ‘Bright’, here:
