!K7 announces deal with Will Saul’s Aus Music
By Chris Cooke | Published on Wednesday 22 January 2014
!K7 Records yesterday announced a new deal with producer Will Saul through which it will provide label and distribution services to his Aus Music label.
Explaining the arrangement, !K7 Records’ Head Of A&R Phil Howells told CMU: “Aus is hugely successful at what it does but Will wanted the flexibility to sign and develop artists over the longer term into the album market and together we can achieve that. In addition we are aiming to create a synergy between the expanded roster and the existing Aus events business and expand that as well, creating a truly modern electronic dance label business model in the process”.
Saul, meanwhile, said: “I’m really excited to be working with the !K7 team going forward. I’ve been a big fan of the music they’ve released and the brand they’ve built for as long as I’ve been into electronic music. Their experience, resources and network will allow me to sign and develop artists for albums, and build and expand our business into other areas within the music industry, which for me is a dream come true”.
