Live Nation takes complete ownership of Dublin O2 venue
By Chris Cooke | Published on Monday 24 February 2014
Live Nation has acquired complete ownership of the O2-branded arena venue in Dublin in a 35 million euro deal that values the building at 70 million euros.
The live music conglom already owned half of the venue, Ireland’s biggest indoor arena, but recently utilised its ‘first refusal’ right to buy the rest of the equity in the venue venture, which was in the control of the Irish government’s National Asset Management Agency following its dealings with the original co-owner of the complex, Dublin Docklands developer Harry Crosbie.
Live Nation is yet to comment on the deal, which was actually agreed late last year, but which has come to light via Ireland’s Independent newspaper this weekend.
