Universal Music’s newish label services company Caroline International has announced a deal with UK indie Turnstile Music that will see the new business handle distribution on releases by the likes of Christopher Owens, Perfume Genius, Gruff Rhys, Los Campesinos! and Cate Le Bon outside of North America.
Confirming the alliance, Alun Llwyd and Kevin Tame, founders of the Cardiff-based ‘artist partnerships’ label, told CMU: “We are proud to be joining forces with Caroline and are already impressed by the energy, enthusiasm and creativity they have shown towards the records scheduled for this year. We are excited about what we can achieve with their new team both on a domestic and international level”.
Meanwhile Caroline’s Michael Roe and Jim Chancellor chipped in with their own joint statement, saying: “That Alun and Kevin have decided to put their faith in Caroline is a testament to the great team we’re building here. We love the artists that Alun and Kevin have collected together under what is a really creative label. We’re very much looking forward to helping Turnstile establish their artists on an international stage”.
