Pictish Trail signs to Moshi Moshi
By Aly Barchi | Published on Thursday 13 March 2014
Hey, The Pictish Trail, aka Scottish artist and Lost Map label boss Johnny Lynch, has signed to Moshi Moshi. MM and Lynch’s first collaborative move will be to re-release his 2008 LP ‘Secret Soundz Vol 1’ and its follow-on, 2013’s ‘Secret Soundz Vol 2’, on double CD and vinyl.
Appearing understandably pleased with the deal in a recent tête-à-tête with The Quietus, Lynch said: “I’ve just signed to Moshi Moshi, so Pictish Trail is now a Moshi Moshi act, which I’m over the moon about. I’m totally in love with that label. We released a record with them under the name Silver Columns with my friend Adem (ex-Fridge) a few years ago. I’ve been in touch with Moshi since, they got in touch recently and said they want to release my music”.
And that’s the story of that. Another topic of Lynch’s tQ chat was Howlin Fling, his and Lost Map’s first ever festival, which is taking place on Scotland’s Isle Of Eigg from 18-20 Jul. Though it’s sold out, you can win tickets to go watch the likes of Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor, Beth Orton, Jens Lekman, Luke Abbott, Oliver Coates, RM Hubbert, Steve Mason, Tuff Love and Adult Jazz by filling in this online form.
