Single Review: Wintersleep – Archaeologists
By CMU Editorial | Published on Monday 8 December 2008
Canada eh? How aboot that? This is a kind of alright song that is a bit like Biffy Clyro. It isn’t ball grabbingly brilliant. Yet, I do not – to quote Canada’s greatest comic luminaries (Terence and Phillip) – wish cancer on them. Drive time indie that pulses along to a throbbing bass line and big overdriven guitars, I think you will get the picture. This will sell by the million if it gets its chance on Radio 1 and some big support tours. Nevertheless, I don’t think this band will change your preconceptions of music or leave you more than mildly amused. So yeah, definitely a potential big seller in today’s dull-as-cardboard-on-toast taste climate. PG
