Super Furry Animals only do it outdoors
By CMU Editorial | Published on Thursday 12 March 2009
Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals has told NME.com that the band are only playing outdoors for the moment, joking that they have yet to perfect technology that will optimise the “epic” sound of their new album, ‘Dark Days/Light Years’, when played inside.
He’s quoted as saying: “There are no more indoor gigs for Super Furry Animals The music is on an epic scale – it’d be wasted indoors”, and adding jokingly: “We’re developing a piece of equipment called Festyval Wynds. Once we’ve sorted it we’ll be able to play indoors”.
The band are set to play at this year’s Wychwood Festival, RockNess, Bundoran’s Sea Sessions and Brighton’s Beachdown. The new LP is out as a download via Superfurry.com from 16 Mar.
