Juice Liverpool to rebrand as Capital
By Chris Cooke | Published on Tuesday 6 October 2015
As expected, Global Radio will rebrand its recent acquisition in Liverpool – the Merseyside version of Juice FM – as a Capital station, making it another outpost for the quasi-national pop station.
Global acquired Juice from UTV back in June, and the deal has just been approved by the competition regulator. As the deal was green lighted, Global confirmed to Radio Today that the Liverpool station would now rebrand as Capital early next year.
Says Global’s biggest of the cheeses Ashley Tabor: “I’m extremely happy that we can now bring Capital, the UK’s number one hit music station, to the city of Liverpool, something we’ve wanted to do for some time”.
He went on: “The Capital network has grown and grown over the years by continuing to deliver what our listeners love, playing the world’s biggest hits from the world’s hottest stars, putting on the biggest and best events and delivering world class content to every corner of the UK. We will continue to take the Capital network from strength-to-strength in 2016 and we’re looking forward to continuing this journey and bringing Capital to Liverpool early next year”.
