Approved: Get Your Gun
By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 8 October 2015
Get Your Gun are Danish brothers Andreas and Simon Westmark and together they’ve created a kind of slow blues-punk sound with a dense atmosphere.
“You can tell we aren’t from a city. We’d play a lot faster”, says Simon of how their small town upbringing has influenced their music. And also, “we only write when we’re frustrated”.
That must cause some scheduling issues. But they thrive on that sort of thing. “People ask me after live shows, ‘Why do you have that big jacket on, aren’t you dying with heat?'” says Andreas. “And I say ‘Yes, that’s what I like’. I don’t want things to be too easy. It has to be a fight”.
The band’s debut album, ‘The Worrying Kind’, is due out on 20 Nov through Louder Than War, and you can catch them live in London this very Friday at The Garage.
Right now though, this is the very brilliant ‘Black Book’.
