Latest CMU Insights seminars programme kicks off later this month
By CMU Editorial | Published on Thursday 7 January 2016
The next edition of the CMU Insights evening seminars programme ‘How The Music Business Works’ kicks off on 18 Jan, with eight two-hour seminars taking place each Monday night into March.
The course provides a comprehensive overview of the music business in 2016, investigating each of the industry’s key revenue streams, the deals artists do to unlock that revenue, and the tools and techniques employed to build a fanbase for new talent. Along the way there is a particular focus on music rights, social media and music PR.
The course is led by CMU Business Editor Chris Cooke, who says: “Our seminars programme provides both a beginners guide to the music industry, but also an overview of current trends and recent developments. We get new starters from across the music sector, but also more experienced music people who want a refresher, or a catch up, or who know one strand of the industry very well, but recognise that with everything in flux, it pays to fully understand how the various parts of the business fit together”.
The seminars take place each Monday at 6.30pm in Shoreditch. People can book into individual sessions at £49.99 per seminar, or the whole course for just £299. Info and bookings here.
