CMU Insights: The Mechanics Of Music Management Course
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 25 September 2019
The MMF’s Mechanics Of Music Management training programme returns once against next week, with five seminars over two months putting the spotlight on the ins and outs of building artist businesses, and the crucial role the manager plays in making that happen.
‘Mechanics Of Music Management’ is a series of seminars designed and delivered for MMF by CMU Insights. The first session, taking place next Tuesday evening at PPL’s London HQ, provides an overview of how artists make money, the business partners they work with to unlock each revenue stream, and the all-important artist-manager relationship. It also outlines MMF’s advice on management deals and contracts.
Future sessions look at the formalities of artist and management companies, the music rights business, the role of labels and distributors, and how to build and monetise a fanbase.
Each session is led by CMU’s Chris Cooke and Marcus O’Dair, and also includes extra expert insights via a series of guest interviews. Already confirmed for this series of seminars are Jonny Petch from Simons Muirhead & Burton, Ella Luby from Hardwick & Morris, Raffaella DeSantis from Harbottle & Lewis and Jessie Scoullar from Wicksteed Works.
Tickets are available for the full programme or for individual sessions. Click here for info.
