Artist News CMU Approved Releases
Approved: Rachika Nayar
By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 29 July 2021
Coming just months after her debut album, ‘Our Hands Against The Dusk’, guitarist Rachika Nayar’s new release ‘Fragments’ – billed as an EP but comprising eleven tracks – is her contribution to RVNG Intl’s ‘There’ series.
With a more stripped down, relaxed take on her sound, ‘Fragments’ sees Nayar building dreamy ambient tracks out of layers of guitar loops and light brushes of synths. A technically very capable player, the strength of her music nevertheless lies in her knowing when to apply something simple in order to elevate a track.
This skill was apparent on the record’s first single ‘Clarity’, and now yet more so on new single ‘August 31st’.
‘Fragments’ is set for release on 13 Aug. Listen to ‘August 31st’ here:
