Artist News CMU Approved Releases
Approved: Teri Gender Bender
By Andy Malt | Published on Tuesday 29 November 2022
Rounding off a prolific second half of this year, Teri Gender Bender will next month release her twelfth EP since June. Prior to that rapid burst of solo activity, she was the frontwoman of Le Butcherettes, and has also collaborated with the likes of Iggy Pop, Melvins and The Mars Volta’s Omar Rodríguez-López.
Despite the quick succession in which they have arrived, the quality of each of this year’s EP releases has been exceptionally high.
And she maintains that on new EP ‘State of Fear’, which is set for release on 16 Dec. It opens with ‘Give Me, Give Me’, a duet with Rodríguez-López, which she says is about “feeling like you are never enough to the sensational spectrum of wanting more, that you do not have enough. From carnal sexual desire to existential crisis of the self”.
If the 40 odd tracks already available to dig into right now aren’t enough, Teri Gender Bender is currently working on her debut album, which is set for release next year.
