Approved: Back To 95 at Fire & Lightbox
By Paul Vig | Published on Friday 1 April 2011
It’s ten years since SVA first decided to relieve the post-millennial tension by skipping back a few years to 1995. On Saturday they celebrate Back To 95’s tenth birthday with a massive blow out at Fire & Lightbox in Vauxhall. If you fancy a bit of nostalgia, getting back to the days of old skool house and garage with the DJs from back in the day, then you should get yourself along too.
In the main room, EZ, Matt Jam Lamont, Norris The Boss Windross, Mike Ruff Cut Lloyd, Micky Simms, Daryl B, and Jazzy D will be spinning the old skool classics, while over in The Lightbox you’ll be treated to soulful and funky house by Bobby & Steve, Craz, Azi Robinson, Lisa C, Lady T and Justin Credible, all with a live percussionist. And finally, in the Mirror Room, there’s rnb and 80s boogie from Firing Squad, Lloyd Life, Conspiracy, Sammy Confunktion, Two Four Seven and Selly J. Not sure if this birthday party will have cake, but they will be handing out free whistles and horns.
Saturday 2 Apr, Fire & Lightbox, South Lambeth Road, London, SW8 1RT, 10pm – 6am, £15 – £17.50, more info from www.backto95.com
