Hype Machine fast forwards
By CMU Editorial | Published on Thursday 14 July 2011
Music-blog aggregator Hype Machine has launched a new service offering a new way to browse through all the blogs it aggregates.
Called Fast Forward, the new service shows a screen grab of a blog page and automatically plays a preview of the track that is embedded in the post. Users can either click on the screen grab and be taken to the blog itself, or skip onto the next blog-grab-with-track-preview, or ‘heart’ the track to add it to their Hype Machine favourites for later listening. Users can filter the posts and tracks shown by genres and such like.
Announcing the new service, Hype Machine’s Anthony Volodkin wrote this week: “We’ve been thinking about this idea since 2009, and after some further inspiration, thought to push this experience further. Fast Forward is like a spinning radio dial across radio stations curated by music bloggers”.
