Approved: Mondkopf
By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 11 August 2011
French producer Mondkopf continues to take techno into dark places with the follow-up to his 2009 debut, ‘Galaxy Of Nowhere’. Entitled ‘Rising Doom’, he apparently took inspiration from post-punk and black metal, resulting in harder drum patterns, deep basslines, and synths that may incite paranoia. It’s cathartic, life-affirming stuff, as you can hear on free download ‘Song Of Shadows’ and in the video for ‘Day Of Anger’ below.
‘Rising Doom’ is due for release on 3 Oct through In Paradisum and will hopefully bring him over to the UK for a full tour. Currently he has just one UK show booked in, in Brighton in November, but we want more. Why? Well, if you have 45 minutes spare, you should check out this video of the preview performance of is new show recorded in Paris in April. It looks pretty amazing.
