Beyonce and Jay-Z trademark their daughter’s name
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 8 February 2012
So, is Bey-Z Junior planning her own line in nappies? Maybe, given news that Beyonce and Jay-Z have filed a trademark application in the US to protect their newly born daughter’s name.
The trademark application was made last month by Beyonce’s company BGK Trademark Holdings, according to the Washington Post.
Though, before you think America’s pop couple have pushed the merchandise craze too far, it’s possible they were motivated to register the name after two other companies tried to trademark it shortly after Blue Ivy Carter was born.
The US trademark registry knocked back those applications noting the name belongs to a “very famous infant”.
