CMU Approved
Approved: Busdriver – Utilitarian Uses Of Love
By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 9 August 2012
West Coast rap auteur Busdriver released his seventh studio LP, ‘Beaus$Eros’, via Fake Four back in February – speaking to CMU about it just ahead of the release. Produced by Loden, the album saw the always off-kilter rapper spring off in a new direction, blending more singing in with his rhyming.
This week the video for the album’s opening track, ‘Utilitarian Uses Of Love’, went up on YouTube. While not quite the complete psychedelic freak out of the video for ‘Kiss Me Back To Life’, it’s nonetheless pretty trippy, and fits the lolloping beat and sucked in vocal performance of the track.
