Kerrang! Radio gives show to a dog
By Chris Cooke | Published on Friday 15 March 2013
Now, the first of April is approaching, but seemingly this isn’t an early fool of a story. Kerrang! Radio’s latest recruit is, erm, a black Labrador dog, who will play an hour of music every Sunday on the rock station.
Which is mad enough, but station bosses are promising that Rockdog will also be interviewing celebrity guests. Kerrang! Radio Programme Director James Walshe told reporters: ”People seem to be having trouble believing us but it really is a dog. Like, an actual dog. It’s a programme for people who love rock music. And dogs”.
To be fair the one hour programme is part of a partnership with the Guide Dogs charity, so there is a admirable side to this as well as the ridiculous. Though other DJs at Kerrang! might want to watch out, there’s always a rival in the wings willing to work for a bowl of Pedigree Chum.
