Morrissey confirms all US dates off as ill health continues
By Chris Cooke | Published on Monday 18 March 2013
Morrissey finally confirmed this weekend that all of the rest of his planned North American tour was now off because of ongoing medical problems.
The singer has had to cancel numerous shows and festival appearances in recent months because of various health issues, including a bleeding ulcer, Barrett’s oesophagus and most recently double pneumonia. Each time reps said the former Smiths man hoped to recover and resume his live commitments, but this weekend admitted that wasn’t going to be possible.
A spokesman told CMU: “Despite his best efforts to try to continue touring, Morrissey has to take a hiatus and will not be able to continue on the rest of the tour. Morrissey thanks all of his fans for their well wishes and thoughts. Refunds for the remaining shows are available at point of purchase”.
