Colin Stetson collaborates with Bon Iver on new album
By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 25 April 2013
Wildly experimental saxophonist Colin Stetson has announced that he will release his new album, ‘New History Warfare Vol 3: To See More Light’, through Constellation on 29 Apr. The record is the follow-up to 2011’s ‘New History Warfare Vol 2: Judges’, completing the trilogy started with ‘New History Warfare Vol 1’ in 2007.
Although you may not have heard Stetson’s solo work before, you will almost certainly have heard his playing on albums by artists including TV On The Radio, Tom Waits, Feist, Arcade Fire and Bon Iver. He is also a touring member of the latter two acts, and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon provides vocals on four tracks on ‘New History Warfare Vol 3: To See More Light’.
