DHP relaunches as a Family
By Chris Cooke | Published on Friday 5 July 2013
Live firm Daybrook House Promotions, already often referred to as DHP, has relaunched under the new name DHP Family. Perhaps best known for running venues like Nottingham’s Rock City and Bristol’s Thekla, the company has more recently moved into festivals, tour promotion and artist management, though the venues side of the business continues to expand with a new London base called Oslo due to open in the autumn.
Confirming the rebrand, DHP MD George Akins told CMU: “We wanted to retain our independent spirit and the best of our heritage, hence DHP Family, but we needed a new identity because the music business has changed hugely and we’re a very different company now from even five years ago”.
He added: “Music consumption has been completely changed by the internet with live performance becoming more important to bands and fans and that plays to our strengths. The people who work here are passionate about presenting the very best artists from around the world in the best venues the UK has to offer. Whether you’re a music-lover or a music-maker, a band manager or a live venue, you will get a great experience from DHP Family”.
