Metallica break O2 attendance record
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 1 April 2009
Metallica broke the record for the most number of fans squeezed into the O2 Dome last week when they played to 19,017 fans at the venue on 28 Mar. The previous record was a pitiful 18,000 set by, er, Metallica last September. Michael Jackson was set to smash this new record with his O2 residency shows, until producers were told they’d have to clear some space at the front for the family of the elephant that’s set to guest in the show. Each Jacko show will now play to 14 fans.
