7digital announced OpenAura partnership
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 13 May 2015
7digital has announced a partnership with artist data platform OpenAura, which will see the two companies work on music discovery products.
Says 7digital CEO Simon Cole: “OpenAura, like 7digital, considers all aspects of what makes listening to digital music as comprehensive, easy, and fun as possible. Therefore, this couldn’t be more of a perfect fit. We fully support the way that OpenAura represents artists with data, and we’re confident our clients will see the value of bringing more rich content into their services now that we have made it as seamless as possible to do so”.
OpenAura CEO Kevin Arnold adds: “Our focus at OpenAura has always been on powering the next-generation of digital music experiences. Both OpenAura and 7digital are in the game for the right reasons: to connect artists with fans for a better, more engaging user experience. The market’s asking that we make our services more compatible to companies and brands ready to build said experiences, and we’re happy to comply”.
The collaboration will run via open metadata service MusicBrainz. And if you’ve forgotten what OpenAura is – go read our feature on it and then remember.
