Approved: Chad VanGaalen

Calgary’s Chad VanGaalen has made an animated sci-fi film based in space, following an intergalactic bin man. Once named ‘Tarboz’, as is the bin man (and, we think, the film’s first chapter), the wider project is now titled ‘Translated Log Of Inhabitants’, and comes with its own comic book, and a score of sorts, which is also Chad’s fifth LP, ‘Shrink Dust’.
One part OST, one part VanGaalen’s way of laying a loving wreath at the altar of the wide Americana plains, it’s apparently a kind of alien-themes-meet-steel-guitars-type record, and will land via Sup Pop on 28 Apr, either in its everyday shape or in a limited ‘Loser Edition’. Which comes as a coloured twelve-inch, for no-hopers with good taste in vinyl.
Get spooky with CVG now as he slings his keening ghost-tones over ‘Shrink Dust’ single most high, ‘Where Are You?’:
