CMU Approved
Approved: Frida Sundemo
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 9 April 2014
Frida was previously approved back at the beginning of last year, ahead of the release of her debut EP ‘Indigo’. A slow procession of singles followed, and next month she’s back with another EP, ‘Lit Up By Neon’, released through the ever dependable Best Fit Recordings, on 5 May.
This week, Sundemo released a single from that EP, entitled ‘Drawn To You’, featuring a reigned in M83-like sound. It’s a fine example of that dancing-with-tears-in-my-eyes pop that Scandinavians do oh so well.
But wait, there is another track from the EP ‘out there’ already, which shows off a very different side of Sundemo’s schtick. All soft xylophone and soft vocals, for all its softness it still manages to split in a key change. And who doesn’t like a good key change?
Have yourself a listen to that right here:
