Artist And Manager Awards announces Pioneer and Peter Grant prize winners
By Andy Malt | Published on Monday 24 February 2014
Organisers of the Artist And Manager Awards have announced the winners of two more of this year’s prizes, ahead of the event in April.
The Peter Grant Award for artist management will go to One Fifteen’s Paul Loasby, who currently manages Jools Holland, David Gilmour, the Syd Barrett estate, Deacon Blue and Ruby Turner. Meanwhile, the Pioneer Award will go to Unconvention founder Ruth Daniel, for her work “to build communities in the grassroots music industry”.
On Loasby’s win, MMF Chairman Brian Message told CMU: “Paul has been a long time MMF member and supporter of artists rights and we are delighted to present this award to him”.
FAC Board Member Martyn Ware said of Daniel: “When the whirlwind that is Ruth Daniel entered my life, I was overwhelmed by the energy, commitment, determination and sheer chutzpah with which she conducts her innovative and trailblazing work. She is a shining example of how to make ideas reality by simply doing them, and I am in awe of her energy and her humanitarian heart. In short, this award could not go to a more deserving person”.
This year’s Artist And Manager Awards will take place at The Troxy in London on 3 Apr.
