Attitude Is Everything announces Venue Day tie up
By Chris Cooke | Published on Friday 9 October 2015
Attitude Is Everything, the charity that encourages the live music sector to improve accessibility to its events for deaf and disabled music fans, has come on board as the latest partner for this month’s Venues Day festivities, which take place at Ministry Of Sound on 20 Oct.
Since last year’s inaugural Venues Day, which brings together the grass roots live music sector, a number of smaller venues have newly signed up to Attitude Is Everything’s Charter Of Best Practice, with the likes of New Cross Inn and Putney’s Half Moon getting involved. This year the organisation will seek to sign up even more, with the charity’s Gideon Feldman on hand to explain the benefits of improved access to smaller venues.
Confirming its involvement again this year, Attitude Is Everything’s CEO Suzanne Bull told reporters: “Working with smaller venues has become a real priority for Attitude Is Everything. These places are the lifeblood of our music communities and it is essential that they can be as inclusive as possible. There are a number of cost-effective and easy-to-implement changes that all live music promoters can make – and, as proven by ticket sales at our Charter venues and festivals, attracting greater numbers of disabled fans and disabled artists is not only good for their business, but for British music overall”.
