BMG appoints former Warner/Chappell GM to VP copyright role

Music rights company BMG yesterday announced the appointment of Robert Stegmüller to the job of Vice President Of Copyright, where he will play a “key role driving BMG’s administrative services to writers and artists”. Most recently GM of Warner’s music publishing business in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, he will report in to BMG’s VP Administration, Gaby Urban, in his new role.
Confirming the appointment, Urban told CMU: “State-of-the-art administration services, ensuring copyrights are properly registered on a worldwide basis and that royalties flow swiftly and accurately to our writers and artists, are key tasks of BMG’s administrative headquarters. Securing executive talent like Robert Stegmüller further strengthens and supports that service”.
Stegmüller himself added: “I am very excited to be part of BMG Rights Management, the most modern and fastest growing music company in the worldwide market today”.
