Artist:Entrepreneur Day

We are just one week away from this year’s edition of the Pivotal music conference in Birmingham. Don’t forget, CMU is presenting a whole strand of sessions on mapping music education and careers in the morning, and utilising fan data in the afternoon.

Also taking place is the next edition of the Artist:Entrepreneur Day from the Featured Artists Coalition and CMU:DIY. Co-hosted with AWAL, artist entrepreneurs Emma McGann, Eckoes and ShaoDow will join CMU’s Chris Cooke to host five sessions looking at music revenues, music rights, gigging, fanbase building and business partners. You can get full info here and book your Pivotal passes here.

This is the first of three editions of the A:E Day happening this autumn. After Birmingham, the next edition takes place as part of the English Folk Expo in Manchester on 17 Oct, with support from Brighter Sound. Once again, three artist entrepreneurs will open up their personal businesses to explain how artists can build a sustainable career around their music, while asking questions of numerous music industry experts. Line-up info will be announced very soon and tickets are already on sale here.

Confirming A:E Day’s return for a second year to the English Folk Expo, the event’s CEO Tom Besford said: “English Folk Expo and Brighter Sound run a number of programmes to support emerging artists to have a sustained career in the music industry. We are delighted to be working with the FAC and CMU:DIY to provide this training offer again in Manchester. Feedback from attendees last year was that they really valued the day being artist-led, meaning that the content was directly relatable and relevant”.
