Other notable announcements and developments today…

• Sony/ATV has announced a new joint venture with former Pitbull manager Charles Chavez and his company Latium Entertainment. Chavez is setting up a publishing venture with Sony/ATV after launching a label set-up with Sony Music earlier this year.

• Indie publisher Imagem Music has announced a new joint venture with talent management firm RebelOne Entertainment, which will support songwriters and producers managed by the latter.

• Google has a new logo and, possibly in a nod to the recent rebrand of the web giant’s parent company as Alphabet Inc, the new Google logo uses letters and everything. Marvellous.

• Animal Collective will release a new live album, ‘Live at 9:30’, this Friday. From it, here’s ‘Did You See The Words’.

• Mykki Blanco has released a new track, ‘Coke White, Starlight’, taken from new album ‘C-ORE’.

• The Libertines are going to be touring some of the clubs of England and Scotland later this month. They’ll play Camden, obviously. Electric Ballroom on 10 Sep.

• Soon to be quite popular pop duo Ekkah will be touring the UK in October. Here’s a video of them performing live, which you might like to watch.

• Lupe Fiasco wants anyone who bought a copy of his 2011 album ‘Lasers’ and hated it (let’s just say the reviews were ‘mixed’ at the time) to send it back so he can destroy all the hated CDs with actual lasers. Though no refunds.
