Other notable announcements and developments today…
• Your good mate Dave Wallace is joining management firm Three Six Zero, and is bringing his management roster, including You Me At Six and Bat For Lashes, plus his team from The League International, like managers Graham Brown and Ed Morford, with him.
• We all know Radiohead’s ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’ is arriving on Spotify on 17 Jun, but what about bloody ‘In Rainbows’, which has to date been absent from the streaming platform? Well, that’s there too now! Though don’t be getting too smug, Spotify users. I have it on good authority the world’s going to end at 11.58pm on 16 Jun. Ha!
• Oh, and remember how you said that the recent release of ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’ would have been the perfect opportunity for Spotify to launch the premium-before-freemium windowing system that we all know is going to eventually become the norm for big releases? Well, according to Music Ally, Spotify was negotiating to do just that, but then pulled out, hence the band delaying streaming the new LP there.
• Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler will release his debut solo album ‘We’re All Somebody From Somewhere’ on 15 Jul. So there you go.
• Aphex Twin has gone ahead and announced that he will release a new EP, ‘Cheetah’, on 8 Jul. So now you know.
• Vessels have released the video for ‘Are You Trending?’ Quick reminder: ‘Are You Trending?’ is fucking great.
