Elbow session breaks a BBC record

I’m not sure Elbow really need any new accolades following all the awards and acclaim that has come their way for Mercury Prize winning album ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’.
But if they are looking for something new to boast about, then we’re told that the band’s recent Radio 2 session with the BBC Concert Orchestra was the most viewed via the BBC’s interactive platform (so online or via the red button) ever. There were over a million views of the session, which was available via the BBC website and digital TV interactive service for a week.
Lewis Carnie, Head of Programmes for Radio 2 and 6 Music, told CMU: “I’m delighted that so many Radio 2 listeners accessed one of the finest live performances we have ever recorded for Radio 2, the Elbow/BBC Concert Orchestra gig. The interactive element of Radio 2 is a crucial component of our output and I’d like to thank everyone involved”.
