Live Review: Ellen And The Escapades at The Great Escape 2010 on 14 May
By CMU Editorial | Published on Tuesday 18 May 2010
Ellen And The Escapades were a delightful addition to The Great Escape line-up this year, exposing those at The Prince Albert to some beautiful melodies and flawless vocals, and displaying an astonishingly rare quality.
The shy and instantly likeable frontwoman, Ellen, has a magnificently soothing tone and the delicate songs contrast beautifully with her husky voice. The warmly energetic ‘Without You’ and the gorgeous ‘Preying On My Mind’ stood out as two well-written tracks, but the whole set was a wonderful slice of indie-folk. Unmissable – hopefully there is a lot more to come from this talented group. JTP
