EMI Publishing sign The Beat

EMI Music Publishing – or possibly the “Sony/ATV Annex” by the end of the year – has announced a new long-term global deal with The Beat, ahead of a planned re-release of the ska outfit’s entire back catalogue later this month. The remastered recordings will be released by Edsel Records.
Confirming the deal, EMI Publishing’s SVP A&R & Catalogue Fran Malyan told CMU: “We’re thrilled to be working with The Beat, they’re one of the bands that truly define their genre and their era. The upcoming reissue campaign will delight all the band’s long time fans as well as enabling them to reach out to an entirely new generation”.
