First Transmitter live show to go live today
By Chris Cooke | Published on Monday 3 February 2014
The new music channel on YouTube, Transmitter – that original content venture involving Love Live and the BPI – will today launch its first live-streamed show, ‘Live@5’, which will go live at six o’clock tonight. No not really, it’ll appear at five o’clock, people. Five PM.
The weekly YouTube-based show will become the regular place where the UK Streaming Chart is revealed. It’ll be fronted by James Hill, who said this to us: “I’m so excited to be part of ‘Live@5’, I absolutely cannot wait to get started. It feels like there’s nothing really like this show at the moment, so it’s a great excuse to have fun and see what happens. Secretly, I’m hoping it’s gonna be as out of control and chaotic as possible… Like ‘Top Of The Pops’ crossed with a slightly over capacity house party the organisers regret”.
Yeah, a ‘Top Of The Pops’ style party which the organisers learn to regret isn’t necessarily something to aim for in the current climate.
