George Michael rehab rumours circulate
By Chris Cooke | Published on Monday 8 April 2013
George Michael has just completed a two month stint at a rehab facility in Australia, or so claims Sydney newspaper The Telegraph.
The paper says that the singer has been staying at the very exclusive Sanctuary rehab centre in Byron Bay since February, where he has been dealing with emotional anxiety and drug addiction, both seemingly linked to his serious bout of pneumonia in 2011. It’s claimed that the illness left Michael battling a dependency to Valium.
The rehab stint would explain why Michael has been silent on Twitter since 25 Jan (so silent, in fact, a rep for the singer was forced to deny rumours he’d actually died). Though Michael’s partner Fadi Fawaz has seemingly denied the rumours, claiming that he has been in Australia recently to visit his ill mother rather than to spend time with his other half at a rehab clinic.
