Gerard Way signs solo deal with Warner
By Aly Barchi | Published on Wednesday 7 May 2014
Gerard Way, perhaps the ex My Chemical Romance member most likely to sign a solo deal, has signed a solo deal. And he has an LP on the go as well, which is always nice to hear.
Following MCR’s big split in 2013, the band’s one-time lead singer has since re-teamed with Warner Bros, which released Way et al’s greatest hits comp ‘May Death Never Stop You’ last year via its Reprise Records label.
Writing in a blog post on his site, Way said this: “I am continuing full steam into comics, art, and more importantly to some of you – music. I am pleased to let you know I am now signed as a solo artist to Warner Bros Records. My album is near completion, and you should expect to hear things in the near future, even today actually – with a brief snippet of what is to come. I am excited.
