Karen O confirms solo shows, listening parties
By Aly Barchi | Published on Thursday 14 August 2014
Karen O has this week confirmed a veritable bean feast of new headline solo shows, this behind her flirtatious first solo record ‘Crush Songs’, which is actually full of old songs dating back to 2006/7, and coming forth on 8 Sep. She plays London’s super-‘intimate’ (which I guess it is relative to her) Bush Hall on 4 AND 5 Oct.
Karen says: “I’m very pleased to announce that I’ll be performing ‘Crush Songs’ to some very intimate audiences. If you’re in the mood for love please come join my crush odyssey at these limited engagements. I apologise in advance that these shows are so few but I guess that makes them all the more special if you can make it SO don’t miss out! LUV KO”.
O is also, on 27 Aug, collaborating with ‘the world’s largest live music discovery company’ Sofar Sounds to host the most private listening parties of all time, at which ‘Crush Songs’ will be played on vinyl for an audience of invited fans. I don’t think she’ll attend all/any of the parties, though just in case, the UK ones are in Brighton, Manchester, London and Glasgow. Apply to make it to the parties here.
And to play us out, this is Karen O’s ‘Crush Songs’ single ‘Rapt’:
