Killer Mike has giant drill named after him

It’s every musicians’ dream, but Killer Mike has finally done it – he’s had a 400-foot-long tunnel-boring machine named after him. Atlanta city officials announced the news that the giant drill would be named Driller Mike earlier this week, following a public vote.
“Before I die, I want a street named after me, maybe Michael Render Way”, said the rapper. “But this is a great midlife goal. This is truly an honour”.
“I laughed hysterically”, he said when he heard that his name was topping the public voting, presumably assuming it would all go the way of Boaty McBoatface in the end. “It was the funniest thing in the world to me. I didn’t take it seriously, because I’m a rapper. Cities don’t associate themselves with rappers. But I’m a business owner, a dad, an active member of politics in Atlanta, so I was honestly honoured that people in Atlanta saw fit to name something after me”.
Driller Mike will now set about digging a five mile tunnel from a reservoir outside Atlanta to improve the city’s water supply.
