Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino will make a presentation at an investor meeting of US media group Liberty Media next week it has been confirmed.

Liberty Media, led by John Malone, currently owns just over a quarter of the live music giant, having been increasing its stake for a while, and has a number of its execs on the Live Nation board.

There have been rumours that Malone would like to take complete ownership of the music business, with some commentators noting moves that might indicate Liberty is preparing to sell of some of its existing media assets to fund a Live Nation buyout.

Though whether anything should be read into Rapino’s presence at the Liberty Media investor gathering isn’t clear – as the biggest single share holder in the live music group, such a briefing from the Live Nation CEO might be expected as routine.
