By Chris Cooke | Published on Wednesday 8 January 2014
Former Warner Music man Lyor Cohen will reveal plans for his previously reported new Google-backed music business venture 300 at MIDEM next month, and there’s nothing you can do to stop him.
Cohen will discuss his new “music content company” with Tommy Boy boss and New Music Seminar chief Tom Silverman on the second day of this year’s MIDEM bash in Cannes, on 2 Feb
Confirming the booking, MIDEM Director Bruno Crolot told CMU: “Lyor Cohen has been one of the most influential industry players over the past decades, and he is now embarking on an exciting new venture which promises to push the envelope in terms of artist development and distribution. We are thrilled he has chosen MIDEM as a platform to give the music industry a first look at his vision”.
So, if you want to know more about his new company, you’ll just have to wait a little longer. If you want to know how he likes to spend a Sunday though, look no further than this New York Times profile.
