Music Supported Here: Sue Richardson

By | Published on Tuesday 20 April 2010

For the next three weeks the CMU Daily will be celebrating the previously reported Music Supported Here campaign, and profiling some of the artists who have backed the initiative.

At the heart of the MSH project is a gallery of ‘music’ logos that incorporate the copyright ‘C’ which have been drawn by each participating artist. We will be featuring a different music logo in the CMU Daily each day, and will invite the artist who created it to introduce themselves and explain why they are supporting the campaign. Along the way we’ll meet some brand new artists, some more established grass roots acts and some pop superstars.

Today’s logo was created by accomplished jazz trumpeter Sue Richardson. Before she tells us why she’s supporting MSH, here’s her artist blurb: “Since being tipped for the top by Jazzwise magazine, Sue Richardson’s career has been going from strength to strength. She featured on Ian Shaw’s tribute to Humphrey Lyttelton, ‘Sad Sweet Song’, and as a result was a guest at Ronnie Scott’s tribute to Humph alongside Tina May and Barry Cryer. This weekend Sue will be a special guest along with Courtney Pine, Stacey Kent, Jools Holland and the ‘I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue’ team at a special memorial concert for Humph at the Hammersmith Apollo”.

And here’s why she is supporting MSH: “Music Supported Here encourages us all – musicians, fans and the like to support each other and the music that we love; keeping the love we have for music centre stage”.

Look out for another ‘music logo’ and MSH supporting band tomorrow.
