The marvellous My Life Story are planning “one last hurrah” later this month, with the band’s frontman Jake Shillingford confirming he has no plans for any future reunion shows after this one at the Shepherds Bush Empire on 31 May.

Says Shillingford: “After twenty amazing years, we felt it was time to bow out with one last big theatre show. A final thanks to our utterly amazing and unhealthily loyal and devoted fans. Bring your memories, bring your laughter, dress up to the nines, and party like its 1994!”

The final show is promising “all the trimmings: slashing violins, flutes that sound like butterflies could live forever, foxy horns, horny foxes, glam guitars, white falcons, cavernous drums, punk attitudes, sex sax, sparkling pianos and huge orgasmic strings. Oh, and very long harpsichord solos!”

As with some of the other occasional reunion bashes My Life Story have staged in the last decade, VIP tickets will also be available to the 31 May gig offering access to a second post-main-show performance and some meeting and greeting type gubbins.
