Natasha Bedingfield’s voice is all natural, right?
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 17 November 2010
Natasha Bedingfield has a new album coming out soon, called ‘Strip Me’. But if you’re expecting it to be all touched up with Auto-tune, don’t. Because she doesn’t use any such studio trickery to enhance her voice. No, no, no.
The singer told Music Rooms: “I don’t put Auto-tune on it. I don’t like that. That’s why the album is called ‘Strip Me’ because it is pop music, it is still anthemic, structured songs, but I feel like I am stripping it back from all the layers and the gimmicks – I’m doing it intentionally”.
She added that she’d never intended to become a performer herself, but instead write songs for other people. However, her songs turned out to be so amazingly brilliant that no one would take them off her. She explains: “That was my aim. I was just going to write for other people. Every person I worked with was like: ‘Oh, you should keep that for yourself – you should actually be an artist’. So at that point I did it”.
‘Strip Me’ is due for release in the US on 7 Dec. It doesn’t seem to have a release date in the UK yet.
