Neon Gold joins Warner/Atlantic
By Andy Malt | Published on Tuesday 21 January 2014
Indie label Neon Gold has announced a new alliance with Warner/Atlantic in the US.
Known for releasing early seven-inch singles by artists such as Marina And The Diamonds, Ellie Goulding, Icona Pop and Haim, this new alignment follows the end of a three-year partnership with Sony/Columbia, and will see the Neon Gold team working with Atlantic co-bosses Julie Greenwald and Craig Kallman.
Label co-founder Lizzy Plapinger told Billboard: “It feels like the next chapter for Neon Gold, and we’re incredibly excited to bring new knowledge to the table, given all we’ve learned in the past three years. We already had an incredible relationship with Atlantic, and to be working with another woman is really inspirational and exciting. That’s a wonderful bonus to the situation”.
Today the label puts its 50th release on sale, the debut EP by the first management singing to Lyor Cohen’s 300 company, ASTR. Listen to a track from that, ‘R U With Me’, here:
