New MD for Universal Spain
By Chris Cooke | Published on Thursday 6 February 2014
The Universal Music Group has appointed a new MD for its Spanish business in the form of Narcís Rebollo, who joined the major in 2006 when it acquired his music and television business Vale Music.
He will report into Universal’s overseer of Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula Jesús Lopez, who told reporters: “Narcis has a unique quality in our industry. He combines extensive experience in marketing and new business with expertise in management and booking which positions him within the Spanish market to be a genuine leader in the ongoing evolution of the music business that we are developing. Under his leadership and with the support of the great team of Universal Music Spain I’m convinced we will continue to grow our capacity to develop incredible artists and innovative new business models”.
The appointment follows the untimely recent death of Simone Bosé, who was appointed as the major’s President for the Iberian Peninsula last October. Lopez is currently acting President for the region in addition to his more senior role.
