New Ray Charles compilation

A new Ray Charles compilation is to be released as part of Concord Records’ programme of reissues of the late legend’s work.
The 21-song anthology, ‘Ray Charles – Genius: The Ultimate Ray Charles Collection’, includes remastered versions of tracks like ‘I Got a Woman’, ‘Busted’, ‘Georgia on My Mind’, ‘Hit the Road Jack’ and ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You’, and is out in the US on 7 Apr (not sure about UK release).
Preceding that on 30 Mar, is the publication of a very expensive coffee table book ($340, which is about £239) featuring rare photos and essays by music names like Willie Nelson, Tom Waits, Stevie Wonder and Quincy Jones.
A DVD featuring footage of Charles performing with Johnny Cash, Nelson, Barbra Streisand and Aretha Franklin is included with the book, royalties from which will be donated to The Ray Charles Robinson Foundation.
