Ninja Tune’s publishing arm, Just Isn’t Music, has announced that it has hired David O’Bryan as it’s new Senior Creative. Fancy. He joins from BMG Chrysalis, where he was Head Of Advertising.

Says O’Bryan: “It’s an incredible honour to join the team at Ninja Tune and Just isn’t Music. The catalogue speaks for itself in terms of creativity and quality, and to be welcomed so warmly into the team just shows how great the people are too. I am ready to become a fully fledged Ninja”.

I hope he wasn’t actually expecting ninja training, because I don’t think they actually do any of that stuff any more. Not since the ‘incident’. Skirting the issue, JIM boss Martin Dobson added: “We are thrilled to welcome David to Just Isn’t Music and Ninja Tune. He’ll bring huge experience and creativity to the licensing team and our business as a whole”.

O’Bryan’s appointment comes as Just Isn’t Music announces the expansion of its roster to include Roots Manuva, Actress, Machinedrum, Forest Swords, King Midas Sound, Kuedo, Phaeleh and Odesza, as well as re-signing Flying Lotus and Young Fathers.

Dobson continued: “David’s appointment, coupled with an exciting batch of new writers signed to the publishing company this year, help make it an absolute pleasure to lead the Just Isn’t Music team in an ever more dynamic, competitive and creative sync industry, whilst ensuring transparent industry-leading copyright administration services across the globe for all of our roster and catalogue”.
