No Reading/Leeds tickets on sale yet
By CMU Editorial | Published on Tuesday 13 January 2009
Promoters of the Reading and Leeds festivals issued a statement yesterday stressing that no tickets for the two events are currently on sale.
They were responding to the arrival of the sort of official looking www.readingfestival2009.com and www.leedsfestival2009.com websites which claim to be selling tickets for the festivals.
A spokesman for promoters Festival Republic told CMU that these sites are “not official and have no access to tickets for this year’s event. Line-up and ticketing details for the event will be announced in due course and Festival Republic advice is, as ever, to only purchase tickets via official links at the event sites via www.seetickets.com”.
The proper Reading/Leeds websites are www.readingfestival.com and www.leedsfestival.com respectively. Bogus ticket offers for the Reading and Leeds festivals were among those investigating by the authorities last year.
